The salon and boutique will be closed from the 1st January and will reopen on Tuesday the 10th January at 12pm.

There are currently two exciting opportunities to join the creative team at Furr:
* Colourist Position: (Minimum skill level – 3rd year apprentice) : If you are passionate about colour, then this position is for you! Be trained in Furr’s signature and advanced colour techniques. Platinum blonde, vibrant colours, natural colours, multi-colours and slices of colour will be the flavour of your day, with plenty of creativity and variety to be enjoyed. Be empowered with a flexible career path – you may choose to hone and perfect your skills as a Colourist or continue your education into hair cutting under the guidance of Furr’s Artistic Director.
* 1st Year Apprentice: Be trained in the Art of Hairdressing by the team at Furr. If you are passionate about hairdressing as a career and are prepared to go the extra mile then an apprenticeship at Furr will power you into a creative and fulfilling career. Be trained in an environment that is creative, committed to excellence and providing professional service to our clients. Some industry experience or Level II Certificate is preferred, however the minimum requirement for applicants is to have some experience of full-time work in any industry.
All applicants must be well presented, motivated, passionate about hair, organised, punctual and reliable.

Its been a long time in the making, but Furr’s new salon is finally here! Furr has said goodbye to our home for the past 15 years and HELLO to the buzz of 168 King Street, conveniently located near the corner of King Street and Missendan Road, and centrally located between the best of King Street’s food offerings. What’s even MORE EXCITING is the expansion into alternative street fashion – Furr are now stocking labels such as Iron Fist, Too Fast, Lip Service and more. The official Furr Opening Party is scheduled to occur mid March 2011, with performances, bands, give aways, and of course a showcase of Furr Goodness to delight – stay tuned for more info!

Dust off your bats – its that time of year again ! The time to celebrate all things dark and beautiful at Under the Blue Moon Festival on Saturday 30th October. We at Furr LOVE this festival, its an awesome day of fun, fashion, music and shopping… and what better way to support our community then to get involved with some of the wicked events being held on the day?
Furr kick off Saturday 30th October at the UTBM markets with SPECIAL UTBM ONLY DEALS on Manic Panic hair colour, makeup, and accessories, as well as Synthetic hair falls, Dread falls, wigs and clip in fringes – great for the vamp, gothic lolita or burlesque babe who loves to mix up her style!
Furr are also styling the hair and working alongside local makeup artists for the midday fashion parade to be held at the Hub, featuring labels such as Industrial Strength, Monkey Business, Dusk Moth, Retro Spec’d, Beserk, Steam Engine 9, Ruby Rocket, Invisible Light and Avelinade De Moray. All these hot labels are being modeled by some of Sydney’s seriously hot Alternative Model Talent – DROOOL!!!
And to ensure that your day is the GLAMOUROUS event that it should be, Furr’s awesome staff will be on hand with special guest makeup artists at the Furr Glamour Booth held at the Under the Blue Moon festival ball. For the amazing price of $10 be treated to beautiful creative makeup suited so this grand occassion! We will also be offering half price synthetic extensions and dreadlock extensions. Only available at the UTBM ball, Factory Theatre from 7pm.

Roll up! Roll up! The circus is in town! Furr is proud to sponsor the fabulous Circusoc “Madame Mercury’s Marvellous Menagerie”, a full scale circus featuring a deliciously saucy cast of burlesque, tumblers, contortists, fire twirling, poi, magic, acrobalance, hula hooping, and more. Lead cast members will be sporting hair and makeup created by the talented team at Furr. Madame Mercury will be astounding audiences at the UNSW Roundhouse the 5th & 6th of August, $15.
